🌛 5.30pm Yoga Nidra w/ Yogatara
🌛 5.30pm Yoga Nidra w/ Yogatara
09/03/2023 (3 weeks ago)
5:30 pm - 6:15 pm
Series begins Sunday July 23rd, 5.30pm (and most Sundays thru mid Sept) If you want the benefits of meditation but struggle to “just sit still” and quiet your mind, this class might just be your cup of tea. Yoga Nidra, the "yoga of sleep", is a guided practice of deep relaxation and a powerful tool for self-transformation. Gaining popularity in recent years, Yoga Nidra is beloved for its ability to bring us into a state of profound relaxation and deep awareness without great effort. In Yoga Nidra your task is to lie down, remain comfortably still and follow the instructions. Through those simple steps you begin to access the state of deep rest where regeneration, healing and transformation take place. In this 7-class series, each class begins with 15 minutes of simple asana (postures) and pranayama (breath work) to help prepare the body & mind for the stillness of Yoga Nidra (25-30min). Classes build on each other, so it is recommended to come as regularly as possible to become familiar with the full scope of Yoga Nidra. Recordings of the Yoga Nidra we do together will be available upon request for you to access freely. Join in and discover the positive changes that happen when we learn to truly rest. Class length: 45min What to bring: a light cover (blanket), your favorite yoga mat (if you have one), any bolsters/cushion you may need to lie comfortably, comfy clothing. Level: Suitable for all. Age 16+. No previous experience in meditation or yoga required. Suggested price: $12 (minimum $2 donation) For more information contact Yogatara at info@isha-institute.com or 2078010147

🔥 6.45pm Shamanic Kundalini Fusion
🔥 6.45pm Shamanic Kundalini Fusion
09/08/2023 (2 weeks ago)
6:45 pm - 8:00 pm
Every 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th Friday
This is a physical practice that prepares us for meditation. A typical class involves breathwork, Sanskrit mantras (repeating exotic words out loud), physical poses and relaxation. I channel my heart-centered energy to bring you closer to your inner knowing. My method of teaching is by awakening love. Think of me as a Love Alchemist! By the end of the night you’ll feel more uplifted and confident. What a great way to start the weekend!
I started taking yoga to be more comfortable in my body. I continued as a student because it helped me notice my thoughts. It is an honor to be of service to you and let my compassionate animal and spirit guides work through me to bring you closer to your own inner teacher. I enjoy working with my shamanic guides because I feel the weight of the world on my shoulders and it is awesome not to have to do all the heavy lifting alone.
Please bring a mat, strap, block, towel, bolster, blanket, water, journal, pencil and an open mind. Class cost is $13. Or just come and pay what you can! All levels are welcome.

🌷 7pm Women's Group
09/11/2023 (1 week ago)
7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Every 2nd Monday
We invite you to join our open women's group at The Gatherings on the 2nd Monday of each month from 7 to 8:30pm. This is a safe and supportive space to come together in community. The format will be a brief opening meditation and then each person that wishes will have a chance to confidentially share for a few minutes. After a few moments of silence, we move to the next person. If time, at the end, we have the option to open the group up to discussion on a topic of interest and/or if anyone would like to receive input on anything in particular. Please do your best to arrive 5 minutes early as it is most supportive to the group dynamics that everyone has had a chance to come together in the space before sharing. $2/person. All group fees go directly supporting The Gatherings. For more information and to RSVP for the group please email Kalindi at kdinoffer@gmail.com or call 214-334-0711

🎶 1pm Kirtan
🎶 1pm Kirtan
09/23/2023 (2 days from now)
1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Every 4th Saturday Please join us on the fourth Saturday of each month from 1:00 to 3:00 pm for community kirtan led by Joe Bruno. Mantra music comes in many forms, including kirtan, an ancient Indian practice of call and response chanting. Chanting has been practiced for thousands of years by diverse cultures and continues to undergo a renaissance in the west. More than just music, kirtan is a contemplative spiritual practice in the vein of meditation and yoga. It offers a pathway to quieting the mind while promoting peace, healing, community building and conscious living. As a lifelong musician, multi instrumentalist and vinyasa yoga teacher, Joe's call and response kirtans are joyous, light-hearted and celebratory. He previously established and led a weekly Ecstatic Community Kirtan in Sarasota, FL where the group raised thousands of dollars in donations to local food banks and charities serving the developmentally disabled. This event shall be by donation ($2 suggested for those who can afford to donate) with all proceeds going to The Gatherings. Thanks and we hope to see you at our first kirtan on Saturday, January 28 at 1:00 pm. Should you have any questions or need for additional information please feel free to email Joe Bruno at jbruno56@gmail.com.

If regular yoga classes are a bit out of your price range, you have trouble finding the motivation to practice alone, or you have been curious to try out yoga for the first time, Community Yoga is for you. These casual classes happen in person every Monday evening at 5.30pm and every Saturday morning at 9am. The Gatherings is grateful that Glo Yoga (glo.com) has generously donated access to 1000s of classes via their online platform, which allows us to stream many different yoga styles by certified teachers onto our big screen. We may do Vinyasa, Hatha, Kundalini, Restorative, Iyengar, Yin Yoga, and more! After class, for those who want to, there will be time to ask questions about poses, help each other out, or share tips and stretches we've been enjoying. These classes will be mostly beginner to intermediate levels, and are open to all ages. There are mats available, no special clothes are required (stretchy recommended) and there is a separate unattended playroom for children if needed. $2 per person goes to the community center. 🔥 6.45pm Shamanic Kundalini Fusion
🔥 6.45pm Shamanic Kundalini Fusion
09/29/2023 (1 week from now)
6:45 pm - 8:00 pm
Every 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th Friday
